2020 Call for PresentersThe Great Plains Social Studies Council is hosting a virtual teacher workshop on Saturday, November 7, 2020. The theme is "Crisis in Teaching." Crisis can be teaching in the midst of racial unrest, COVID-19, student/community trauma, and so forth. It can also be teaching about historical crises such as the bubonic plague, the 1866 Memphis Race Riot, or the Great Depression. The workshop hopes to highlight effective teaching practices during and about crises.
Presenters can choose to pre-record their talk or present live. Sessions should be 30-45 minutes with 10 minutes of Q&A. We do ask that the presenters create handouts of resources/example lesson plans/etc for participants since those are incredibly helpful for secondary teachers.
